Aruba Selects Genesis for Major Corridor Spatial Master Plan

Posted on 2013-03-19 by Craig H. Anderson

Genesis has been selected by the Aruban government's Ministry of Integration, Infrastructure, and Environment to develop a Spatial Master Plan for the Ringweg 3 Corridor.

Ringweg 3 / Watty vos Blvd. - Overview Map

Ringweg 3 will ultimately be a 4-lane roadway that will extend from Queen Beatrix International Airport to Aruba's principal hotel and resort area.  The approximately 7.5-km (4.7-mile) roadway will be a gateway to Aruba’s airline travelers as well as providing connectivity between Aruba's resorts and Oranjestad, the nation's capital. Once completed, the roadway will be named "Watty Vos Boulevard".

As part of this project, Genesis will develop a Spatial Master Plan that will define the development of vacant  lands located adjacent to the the corridor and specifically identify how the adjacent development will:

  • Interface with the roadway in a manner that will preserve the roadway's capacity;
  • Be compatible with surrounding existing neighborhoods;
  • Encourage development and investment adjacent to the corridor;
  • Comply with Development Design Guidelines that will be established to create the desired character and form for future development.

This multi-discipline effort, involving Planners, Engineers, Landscape Architects, and GIS Analysts will be managed jointly by Bruce T. Kaschyk, AICP from our Tampa office and Mark T. Llewellyn, P.E. from our Tallahassee office
