Tallahassee, Florida, August 5, 2015 – Each year, the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE) recognizes firms in Florida for their original or innovative applications to complex projects and studies. Genesis is proud to announce that Cascades Park has been selected as a recipient of the Engineering Excellence Grand Award in the Water and Stormwater category for 2015. Genesis’ President, Mark Llewellyn Sr., P.E., accepted the award on July 31, 2015 at the FES/FICE 99th Annual Summer Conference and Exposition banquet. This is the 7th award Genesis has received for Cascades Park.
Cascades Park, the 25-acre urban park in Tallahassee, successfully performs as a major new flood control/flood plain management system and an outstanding recreational facility for the community. From 2002 until March 2014, Genesis was involved in the planning and design of the Capital Cascades Trail and Cascades Park in partnership with Blueprint 2000 and Beyond. The community has embraced Cascades Park as the preeminent facility in the Tallahassee Parks system. (Read more)
